Thailand is one of the most in-demand countries for TV and film production, offering a diverse range of locations that suit nearly any genre from dense jungles and pristine beaches to bustling cities, iconic temples, and even Western-style homes and Italian-style villas. Its versatility continues to attract international crews, including major platforms like Netflix, which have recently increased production in the country. This activity supports the local economy and offers valuable opportunities to Thai film crews.
To further attract filmmakers, Thailand has updated its cash rebate program, now offering up to 30% of qualifying expenses. A single permit allows filming anywhere in the country, and experienced local crews make production efficient and cost-effective.
Below is a list of recent TV series filmed in Thailand, some of which were shot entirely in the country.
Alien: Earth (2025)

With a production budget totaling 3 billion Thai Baht, Alien: Earth stands as the highest-budget film ever shot in Thailand. The project employed over 1,600 Thai crew members, highlighting the country’s growing role in international filmmaking.
The production team traveled across several locations, including Bangkok, Surat Thani, Phuket, Krabi, and Phang Nga, capturing the diverse scenery, mimicking an untouched world. In Bangkok, controlled scenes and sets were filmed at The Studio Park, where the crew built custom environments.
The White Lotus (2025)

The White Lotus (Season 3) was primarily filmed across the beautiful islands of Koh Samui and Phuket in Thailand, with some controlled scenes filmed in Bangkok. The production featured five-star resorts such as the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Anantara Bophut, and Lawana Resorts, along with the Rosewood and Anantara Mai Khao Villas in Phuket. For controlled shooting environments, the team utilized Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental hotel and Acts Studio.
Thanks to the popularity of the series, its viewers experienced the White Lotus effect and drew crowds to the aforementioned hotel chains.
Additionally, the hit TV series took advantage of Thailand’s 30% tax rebate and gained a rebate of $4.4m on a $35m project.
Fountain of Youth (2025)

Filmed in Bangkok, the Fountain of Youth showcased Chinatown and Hua Lumphong Train Station. While the scene focused on Chinatown, the chase sequence on the bike was shot entirely in another part of the city. Hua Lumphong Train Station served as the backdrop for the train journey. While some scenes were shot on the train, the crew transitioned to an on-set creation due to John Kraskinski’s height. Additionally, the train interior allowed the actors to engage in a fight sequence where interior elements of the train fell off.
The crew also visited Suphanburi; however, it wasn’t clear what locations were chosen for the film.
Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)

Thailand offers a handful of untouched, forested areas, which make these locations ideal for filming scenes for Jurassic World: Rebirth. The crew chose three national parks for filming: Hat Chao Mai National Park, Khao Phanom Bencha National Park, and Ao Phang Nga National Park. These locations provide dense jungles and scenic views of the ocean, amidst a backdrop of forested mountains and limestone blocks jutting out of the sea.
The Night Agent (2023)

In Season 2 of The Night Agent, Bangkok served as a key backdrop, with several iconic locations featured throughout the series. Action scenes were shot along Yaowarat Road in Chinatown, where dimly lit streets and vibrant neon signs set the tone for nail-biting moments. Wat Pho, with its giant reclining Buddha and Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen, home to a massive seated Buddha, added cultural significance to the scenes. The Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel hosted several pivotal scenes, including a tense exchange between Peter and agent Alice.
The Bear (2022)

Parts of The Bear were filmed in Thailand, with Bangkok doubling as Chicago for several scenes. The city’s dense skyline and modern high-rise buildings made it a practical stand-in for the American city, offering the visual scale needed for urban storytelling. Furthermore, Bangkok provided a more cost-effective alternative to shooting in Chicago. The production also took advantage of Thailand’s scenic diversity, filming additional scenes in Phuket and Koh Samui.
Extraction (2020)

Thailand served as a key filming location for Extraction, with several intense scenes shot across Bangkok and surrounding provinces. The production crew utilized Klong Toey Market’s crowded alleys and vibrant atmosphere to heighten the film’s gritty realism. Action sequences were also filmed at the Lat Bua Khao Bridge, where Chris Hemsworth’s character falls off, and in the Tha Pha area, adding to the film’s setting. Beyond the capital, scenes in Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi offered contrasting backdrops that balanced city chaos with more expansive, rural environments.
With its remarkable range of locations, streamlined permitting process, and generous cash rebate program of up to 30%, Thailand has firmly established itself as a premier destination for global film and television production. Thailand’s growing reputation ensures it will remain a key player in the international production landscape for years to come.
